PM 6023

PM 6023 is an audio analyzer for acoustic testing on the production line. It tests speaker drivers, microphone units, and semi-finished speakers and microphones, and it reports the parameters that decide whether a unit ships: frequency response, sensitivity, distortion, impedance, phase and balance.

Eight analog input channels and three analog output channels sit in one chassis measuring 240 × 270 × 76.5 mm. Conversion is 24-bit in both directions and sampling runs from 1 kHz to 192 kHz, with the 20 Hz to 20 kHz band flat to within ±0.2 dB. Noise floor and distortion both stay below -90 dBV.

Two IEPE channels are built into the analog inputs and supply 24 V at 4 mA, so measurement microphones and accelerometers connect without external conditioning. Every output channel carries an 8 W amplifier, which is enough to drive a speaker load directly. A programmable supply module inside the instrument sets output voltage and resistance by command.

Interfaces are BNC and AUX, and the operating temperature range is 0 to 45 °C. PM 6023 works with MegaSig Stinger test software, and a device driver plus a dedicated DLL are supplied for automated stations.

Key Features

  • 8 analog input channels and 3 analog output channels in a single 240 × 270 × 76.5 mm unit

  • 24-bit ADC and DAC with a sampling rate of 1 kHz to 192 kHz

  • 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response within ±0.2 dB on both input and output

  • Noise floor below -90 dBV and distortion below -90 dBV

  • Input range ±8 Vrms (analog in), output range ±7.5 Vrms (analog out)

  • 2 IEPE channels built into the analog inputs, with a 24 V / 4 mA constant-current supply

  • 8 W amplifier on every output channel, so a speaker load can be driven directly

  • Programmable supply module: output voltage and resistance set by command

  • BNC and AUX interfaces

  • Operating temperature 0 to 45 °C

  • Runs with MegaSig Stinger software; device identification driver and dedicated DLL included

 Applications

PM 6023 is positioned for electroacoustic testing on the line. Typical devices under test:

  • Speaker drivers (single-unit speakers)

  • Microphone units and cartridges

  • Semi-finished speakers

  • Semi-finished microphones

Typical test items include frequency response, sensitivity, total harmonic distortion (THD and THD+N), impedance, polarity, phase, balance, signal-to-noise ratio and abnormal-sound (Rub and Buzz) screening.

FAQ

  • What is the PM 6023 used for?:
It is an audio analyzer built for acoustic testing on the production line. It measures speaker drivers, microphone units, and semi-finished speakers and microphones.
  • How many channels does the PM 6023 have?:
Eight analog input channels and three analog output channels, all in one unit.
  • What sampling rate and resolution does it support?:
24-bit conversion and a sampling rate of 1 kHz to 192 kHz, with frequency response within ±0.2 dB from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.
  • ‌What are the noise and distortion figures?:
Noise floor and distortion are both below -90 dBV on the analog input and analog output channels.
  • ‌Can the PM 6023 power IEPE sensors?:
Yes. Two IEPE channels are built into the analog inputs and provide a 24 V, 4 mA constant-current supply, so IEPE measurement microphones and accelerometers connect directly.
  • ‌Does it need an external amplifier to drive a speaker?:
No. Each analog output channel includes an 8 W amplifier, so it can drive a speaker load directly.
  • ‌Can the supply voltage and resistance be programmed?:
Yes. The built-in supply module sets output voltage and resistance by command, which suits parts that need a defined bias or supply.
  • ‌Which software does it work with?:
MegaSig Stinger, the virtual-instrument audio test platform. A device identification driver and a dedicated DLL are available for custom or automated setups.
  • ‌What interfaces and operating temperature does it have?:
BNC and AUX interfaces, and an operating temperature range of 0 to 45 °C.
  • What are the input and output voltage ranges?:
±8 Vrms on the analog input channels and ±7.5 Vrms on the analog output channels.
  • ‌What are the dimensions?:
    240 × 270 × 76.5 mm (L × W × H), excluding connector length.
