EN 50332-application note for mobile phone typeC digital audio output test
1、Overview
With the development of consumer electronic products, the functions and types of electronic products are becoming more and more abundant. The most representative products are mobile phones, earphones, audio, etc., and the EN 50332 standard is for all portable audio with earphone or earphone jacks. The purpose of the equipment and the separate earphone product is to prevent the hearing of the human body from being damaged by the excessive volume of the earphone. Therefore, corresponding technical standards and output limits have been specially issued.
Then, for the above standard tests, we have a complete system from software test algorithms to hardware test equipment, which can quickly and accurately present test data in a visual way.
1.1、EN 50322 Test category
1) EN 50322-1 (Sound pressure test for the whole machine)
2) EN 50322-2
EN 50332-2.1 (Test of player output voltage)
EN 50322-2.2 (Voltage Test for Broadband Characteristics of Headphones)
Note: The signal strength of digital signal (CD, DVD, MP3) played by the player product is -10dBFS. The volume adjustment button of the player is adjusted to the maximum volume, a total of 5 measurements are required, and the average value of the 5 times is taken.
2、EN 50332-2.1 Standard Application Test
Player output voltage test: The maximum output voltage (Maximum Output Voltage) is the unweighted effective value measured by loading the electrical signal of each channel port of the player earphone on a 32Ω load, and the average time needs to be more than 30s. The standard stipulates that The maximum output voltage cannot exceed 150mV. (Test signal is the same as EN 50332-1)
For analog audio output: the maximum output voltage Vm should be defined as the unweighted rms voltage at the load
For digital audio output: the maximum output level Lm should be defined as the average value of the digital signal (over 30S average time)

2.2、Mobile player volume output test link
Take the volume output test link of the mobile phone player as an example:
First, connect the mobile phone player to the U 965 Type-C audio receiving gateway module through a Type-C cable, and then connect it to the PC through a universal serial square port cable. The mobile phone player plays EN 50332 standard signals, and then the U The 965 Type-C audio receiving gateway module collects the signal and transmits it to the AudioExpert audio analysis software.
